FBC Brazoria Missions

WE CAN CHANGE THE WORLD! First Baptist Church is uniquely positioned to fulfill our worldwide mission through an Acts 1:8 vision. Understanding that the local church is at the very center of God's plan for reaching the world, we must begin mapping out our Jerusalem, our Judea, our Samaria, and our ends of the earth. It's time to realize that we can literally change our world. Are you ready to map out our strategy for global impact?

REACH OUR COMMUNITY (JERUSALEM) There are people in our community who need the Gospel, but may never set foot in our church building. In fact, there are some 113,000 lost people in Brazoria County--these people are our "Jerusalem" mission field. We must understand the opportunities for ministry and service to reach our "Jerusalem." It could be a new community ministry, a new church start or a new strategy to reach one of the many people groups living in Brazoria County.

REACH OUR STATE (JUDEA) Though Southern Baptists have been in existence for more than 150 years, today there are millions of lost people all around us in every region or our state. They are our "Judea" mission field. And while First Baptist Church might touch our "Jerusalem" with a big outreach event, the only way to reach our entire state with the gospel is through partnership with other churches in Texas. Our gifts through the Cooperative Program and the Mary Hill Davis Offering for Texas Missions have helped establish our state convention to assist us in reaching our "Judea", but we must also be intentional about seeing where God is at work in Texas and sending our people to join with Him to get the work done.

REACH OUR CONTINENT (SAMARIA) While we often think of North America as "Christian," the reality is that an estimated 235 million people in our "Samaria" have no personal relationship with Jesus Christ. That is seven out of every 10 people! The lostness of North America runs deep and the gospel often meets calloused response in this modern-day "Samaria." Our mission dollars, flowing through channels like the Cooperative Program and the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering, provide support for others to reach our "Samaria."

REACH OUR WORLD (ENDS OF THE EARTH) Thousands of people around the world are coming to a saving faith in Jesus Christ. Yet the stark reality remains: 1.7 billion people still have little or no access to the gospel message. And while Southern Baptists are going to international mission fields in unprecedented numbers, many more are needed. First Baptist Church can have global impact through a partnership with the International Mission Board (IMB). Gifts to the Cooperative Program and Lottie Moon Christmas Offering enable us to support more that 5,300 missionaries in more than 150 countries. The challenge is in reaching the more than 6,500 unreached people groups throughout the world. In partnership with the IMB, Gulf Coast Baptist Association, and three other churches in our association, First Baptist Church is targeting the Bulgarian Muslims in the Rhodope mountains in Southern Bulgaria.

The purpose of First Baptist Church Brazoria is to glorify God by enabling believers to become fully committed disciples and equipping them to impact the world with the redeeming love of Jesus Christ.

At FBC we gather weekly for corporate worship.  Gathering together with the fellowship we worship through song and through the teaching of the Scripture.

On Sunday morning we gather for two different styles of worship.  The first, at 8am, is a more traditional style that incorporates a Gaither's style praise team and sings predominantly gospel songs and hymns.  Our second service is at 10:45 and is more contemporary.  There is a praise band that leads the congregation in song and often additional, more artistic, expressions of worship.  We hope you will consider joining us for one of these services.
